Mike Tyson Says Conor McGregor Will ‘Get Killed’ in Floyd Mayweather Fight

Mike Tyson does not think Conor McGregor has a chance against Floyd Mayweather.

Mike Tyson

The former boxer revealed in an interview with the Pardon My Take podcast that he believes McGregor made a serious mistake according to boxing rules for the fight (h / t Chris Chavez of

“McGregor is going to kill boxing. I got angry because I thought they would use the MMA rules against boxing because that’s what it’s all about: Can the boxer beat the MMA type McConor [sic] put his dumba *** on A position where you are going to be eliminated because this guy has been doing this all his life since he was a baby. McConor [sic] can not kick and grab and stuff so he will not stand a big chance.

“McGregor took the biggest rules in boxing history.”

Mike Tyson also said he would have allowed MMA rules if he had ever fought McGregor.

Frankly, Mike Tyson has a point here. McGregor is at a pronounced disadvantage against Mayweather fighting him using boxing rules. While Mayweather has boxed all his life and has never lost in his professional career, going 49-0, McGregor has fought using completely different rules in the UFC.

Put another way: There are very few, if any, professional boxers near Mayweather’s weight division who would be favored against him.

Now, this does not mean that McGregor can not take away the discomfort. He has the combination of power and speed to give any fighter problem. Seven of his nine victories in the UFC have come by TKO or KO by blows. There is no doubt that McGregor can take a beating and move on.

If McGregor can step into Mayweather’s guard and constantly pressure him and take him down, he can use his superior power to potentially win the fight. But that has been the game plan for many boxers before him, none of whom succeeded against Mayweather’s speed, accuracy and IQ boxing.

And Mike Tyson, at least, does not believe that an MMA fighter turned boxer will be the first to achieve the feat.

McGregor trolls Mayweather with Warriors jersey

I’m not sure how unpleasant Mayweather-McGregor’s buildup will be, but Conor certainly has no problem getting as personal as possible. In one of Conor’s latest crazes he was seen wearing a Warriors jersey, something that Draymond Green (which currently bears the number for the team) took exception to Instagram.

But Conor turned his back on Green telling him it was not really his sweater he wore, but rather the shirt of C.J. Watson (who played for the team between ’08 and ’10). Now if that name does not immediately mean anything to you, let me explain …

MORE READ: Jorge Masvidal says McGregor has ‘barely any chance’ against Mayweather

C.J. Watson is the NBA player who is said to have an intimate relationship with Josie Harris, the mother of three of Floyd’s sons, a few years ago. In fact it was the revelation of this relationship between Watson and Harris that precipitated an assault on Harris by Mayweather – you know – the reason he did that prison term in 2012.

So in the comments section of Draymond Green’s post, McGregor replied:

“That’s C.J Watson’s mate.I do not know who you are.No disrespect to the boy, keep hustling and stay in school.

“Now ask yourself why I’m shaking C.j when I do not know or give a f ** k on basketball.” I throw the heads off the ground. “It’s not a ball.

Despite being hit with a plethora of charges in that domestic incident, Mayweather finally pleaded guilty to minor charges and served two months in jail. And it seems that McGregor is very happy to try to at least try to get underneath Mayweather’s skin in the lead up to his August 26 fight.

We rocking with Floyd bro not you… take that off bruh @thenotoriousmma

Jorge Masvidal says McGregor has ‘barely any chance’ against Mayweather

Jorge Masvidal is one of the fighters who give Conor McGregor just a chance against Floyd Mayweather Jr., and for good reason.

Jorge Masvidal

Jorge Masvidal, 32, has a great boxing experience and grew up fighting on the street in Miami. During his early days in boxing, ‘Gamebred’ got spar with world-class boxers and believes that they are several leagues ahead of the best boxers in MMA.

McGregor, the current UFC lightweight champion, could pitch Mayweather with his clumsiness, but Jorge Masvidal thinks ‘The Notorious’ will be in for a long night once Money sets and gets its time.

“I grew up in boxing,” Jorge Masvidal told’s Tom Taylor. “My first base was boxing, and I grew up with good luck. The gyms where I was, I had to see a lot of world-class boxing at an early age, it was pure luck that the gyms close to my house had an incredible And astonishing talent, either national or Cuban who had won the Olympic Games, who had won world championships, which had 250 amateur fights and 17 losses. So I got to work with a lot of good guys, and I have to see A lot of good guys working, and I can tell you this. I’ve never seen anyone in the MMA – and this is not to dis my brothers and sisters, because it’s a different place – I’ve never seen guys seen in the top 10 of MMA, or the top-5 even, and They are good strikers, when they do boxing straight with a solid boxer, not even a world-class amateur, only a solid veteran, a lot of times they clean themselves.

“In the first few minutes, MMA guys sometimes get rid of boxers because it’s a different pace, different stance, and they throw their punches a bit differently, some of them, compared to boxing straight. Sometimes you see that the boxer is trimmed a bit because he is not used to that rhythm and the angles of the punches come, but once all sets in and that time, it’s a different ball game.I’ve seen it many times, So I give Conor almost no chance. ”

Jorge Masvidal, who recently left a split decision to Demian Maia at UFC 211, says that McGregor’s only chance is if Mayweather completely underestimates him.

In a fight with two guys with their hands with bad intentions, there is always an opportunity – always in a fight, “he said.” You can be beaten for 14 minutes, and at 14:55, you land that blow that changes the whole fight. Anything can happen to anyone. But those chances are so thin against Mayweather … The only way I can see Mayweather losing is if Mayweather just does not take it seriously at all. If he likes Anderson Silva, you know … hands up and he actually lets him hit him on the chin. But I do not see Mayweather miss this.

Mayweather Vs. McGregor is scheduled to be the largest pay-per-view event in combat sport history and is scheduled for August 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

McGregor Mayweahter doing more harm than good

When Floyd Mayweather’s fight with UFC star Conor McGregor was announced last month, most of the boxing world shrugged or shrugged. Those looking for good points suggest that occasional fans who have not been exposed to McGregor Mayweahter boxing could be charmed by the sport.

McGregor Mayweahter

Well, after four stops on the McGregor Mayweahter world tour, it’s time to shrink. McGregor Mayweahter has quickly become a kind of bad vaudeville act using the gutter tongue to promote a fight that everyone already knows. It is billed as a boxing match. But what we have seen so far has little to do with boxing.

Boxing is what took place at the Nassau Coliseum on Saturday night. These are young warriors who have dedicated their lives to Sweet Science, perfecting their skills through the ranks of amateurs, establishing themselves as professionals and hoping they are good enough to make the kind of money that will be established for lives.

It was Marcus Browne, a former Olympian, trying to protect his undefeated record against Seanie Monaghan, another undefeated light heavyweight.

The winner would put himself in a position for a coveted title shot that has been his dream since they put on the gloves.

It was Omar Figueroa, an unbeaten youngster from Texas, trying to get rid of a year of farewell to face former champion Robert Guerrero, who has been in the ring with Mayweather, and is trying to prove he is not washed up.

It was two Polish heavyweights named Arthur Szpilka and Adam Kownacki fighting for national pride in the middle of Long Island.

During the press conference to promote the PBC in the FOX event, there were no exchanges of blasphemies, nor vulgarities nor homophobic insults shouted, without beasts of race and without calling the executive network commissioners.

Instead, those who fought on Saturday’s Long Island card were polite to their opponents and hoped to demonstrate their skills. That’s what boxing has been around for 99.9 percent of the time.

The McGregor Mayweahter World Tour could actually have done more damage than good.

All he did was show how crass the two fighters could be to each other. Two world tour stops would have been enough.

These are the fighters, not the night acts.

The first one in Los Angeles was business. The second in Toronto became more personal. The third stop in Brooklyn skirted on disgusting, and the final leg in London was a bad act in need of new material.

McGregor was actually booed at the Barclays Center when he made a vulgar gyre for his “black female fans,” then Mayweather went to the gutter calling McGregor a homophobic insult in London. It was more WWE than boxing and was even more of the top UFC, which can get raunchy in their accumulations.

Once the McGregor Mayweahter tour, which covered 14,000 miles across three countries, was completed, it is estimated that 50,000 fans in attendance and millions watching on social networks witnessed two thugs acting as high school rivals.

And let’s face it: If you’re a casual sports fan who is not familiar with combat sports, why would you be drawn to this after listening to Mayweather and McGregor last week?

Yes, it could turn out to be the richest boxing event of all time because there are enough MMA fans who love all McGregor and curious boxing fans to do great business. But this is a novelty and not a referendum on boxing or MMA.

Sure there has been a lot of talkative junk in boxing, but there is a line that is not often crossed, and when it is, there are repercussions. Angel Garcia, the father of Danny Garcia, discovered it when he uttered a series of B words and N-words in Keith Thurman during a reporter at the Barclays Center.

Elder Garcia was taken in front of the New York State Athletic Commission and nearly missed the opportunity to work the corner of his son.

The truth is that there were more UFC fans at the McGregor Mayweahter press conferences. They are accustomed to orchestrated talk. It is part of the attraction of that sport. Boxing needs to be kept to a higher level.

How Conor McGregor Can Beat Floyd Mayweather

As Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor embark on their four-city press tour this week, covering Los Angeles, Toronto, Brooklyn and London, England, there will be many fans and media sitting there wondering if “The Notorious” has any chance Giving Mayweather his first favorable defeat.

Conor McGregor

The reality is an unequivocal “No!”

But there is a very small chance that 29-year-old left-hander Conor McGregor could achieve what would be the biggest disruption in the sport’s history, lining up there with Francis Ouimet hitting golf giants Harry Vardon and Ted Ray in 1913 US Open. The difference is that Ouimet at least played golf and was an accomplished amateur.

McGregor’s discomfort would transcend him because he never boxed, not even as an amateur. Of course, Conor McGregor is a UFC superstar and mixed martial arts enter the ring boxing with one of the best fighters of all time in boxing history will be like stepping on Mars to The Notorious.

The last time Mayweather (49-0, 26 KOs) lost was on August 2, 1996, in a 10-9 decision against Bulgarian Serafim Todorov in the semifinal featherweight round of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Professional, has had few eyebrow rise times, like April 20, 2002, in his first fight against Jose Luis Castillo, who imposed his superior size that forced Mayweather to yield the distance of comfort; And on May 1, 2010, against Shane Mosley, whose right hand straight with 2:06 left of the second round is probably the hardest hit ever landed against “money.” Another right from Mosley with 1:15 left in the round bent Mayweather’s knees. Then Mayweather proceeded to dominate every second of every round after that.

There are some things that have to be factored into McGregor’s opportunities: One, Mayweather turned 40 on February 24; And two, when Mayweather enters the ring against Conor McGregor, it will be almost two years since his last fight. McGregor, even though it was an MMA fight, stopped Philly fighter Eddie Alvarez in November of 2016.

The best chance of McGregor against Mayweather is to skip it early. He will have to land a large left and do it within the first three rounds, because after that, McGregor will have little left. Boxing is like ballroom dancing marathon. Although Mayweather has not danced in a boxing ring in 23 months, he possesses muscle memory dating back to when he was four years old. McGregor’s legs will not be able to withstand the athletically superior Mayweather for 12 rounds or even six rounds.

Conor McGregor, like Manny Pacquiao, is left-handed. But unlike Pacquiao, when he met with the money on May 2, 2015, McGregor is 29 and not exhausted. “Pac-Man” was 36 when he met Mayweather and shook off some of his aggressive fighting style.

Will Saturday Aug. 26 be the night that Mayweather looks like a 40-year-old fighter? Will you show in your reaction time to McGregor’s attacks?

The money has not stopped anyone since being defeated by Victor Ortiz (KO 4) on September 17, 2011, which will be almost six years when he steps up against McGregor. Even Ortiz’s suspension was dubious, considering that Ortiz had bumped Mayweather and after being warned by referee Joe Cortez, he approached Money with his hands trying to apologize when the money legally hit him.

Conor McGregor has a two-inch range advantage (74 “to 72”) and is larger than Mayweather. In December of 2015, McGregor nailed the featherweight of UFC (who is 145 pounds) champion Jose Aldo with a short and precise left.

Could an invisible McGregor have left the rock on Saturday, August 26?

It’s possible. But very unlikely.

McGregor vs Mayweather: What Date is Fight, Where is it Taking place?

It’s the Millennium boxing match or an abomination that spins in a cross code, but what we can say with certainty, in the end, is that it’s happening. Once retired all-time great boxer Floyd Mayweather will take UFC star Conor McGregor in Las Vegas.

There has been what it feels like years of speculation about the fight, with so many name calling on both sides. But the two fighters have announced that it is in fact, in.

Yes, that’s right, a boxer with a 49-0 record against a man who has never taken part in a professional boxing matchup.
Anyway, here you have everything you need to know about the fight.

What date is the fight and at what time?

The fight is taking place on Saturday, August 26. While times have not been announced, it will certainly be a very early night or early start for viewers in the UK, so expect to be well until Sunday, August 27, and possibly call sick on Monday 28.

Where is the fight?

The fight will be hosted at the T-Mobile stadium on the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada. The place has had great fights in the past, including UFC 202, in which McGregor beat Nate Diaz in points.

How can I watch it on TV?

Details are yet to be confirmed, but the bout will be a pay-per-view event hosted by Showtime Sports.
The price has not been decided, although it is expected to be at or near the $ 99.95 charged by Mayweather 2015 wrestling with Manny Pacquiao who earned a record 4.4 million pay-per-view purchase.
“This is truly an unprecedented event,” said Stephen Espinoza, who heads Showtime Sports. “We have not really seen anything in modern history that resembles it, it’s impossible to predict how much sales this is going to make.”

What are your fighting stories?

Mayweather retired in 2015 with a flawless 49-0 professional boxing record.

He is widely regarded as one of the best defensive fighters of all time, and prides himself on his ability to evade punishment with his skilful move on the ring while making adjustments against opponents on the go.

A win for Mayweather would move him ahead of former heavyweight Rocky Marciano, who also retired with a perfect 49-0 career record.

McGregor, the current UFC lightweight champion and former featherweight champion, is known for both his bravery and his explosive knockout power inside an MMA octagon.

The 28-year-old Irishman became the first UFC fighter to have two belts simultaneously when he knocked out Eddie Alvarez in New York last November for the lightweight championship.

The UFC stripped McGregor of his featherweight belt shortly after that bout when he announced he was going to take some time off after he and his long-time partner Dee Devlin had their first baby in May.

Known for his devastating blows and outstanding punches, McGregor is also fast and irrational on his feet, but few support him to beat one of the most complete fighters of all time.

What are the rules of the fight?

The fight will take place under boxing rules, posing a huge challenge for mixed martial artists McGregor as he faces one of the greatest defensive boxers in history.

Adding to the McGregor challenge, wrestlers will wear 10-ounce boxing gloves instead of the smaller UFC gloves and will not be allowed to use leg kicks or kicks used in mixed martial arts.

McGregor will weigh 154 pounds, UFC president Dana White told ESPN.

What are the odds?

The bookies immediately predicted a victory for Mayweather. William Hill put the veteran fighter on 1/11 favorite.

Oddsmaker Nick Bogdanovich said the odds would be even more unbalanced were it not for the deluge of small bets that are expected to come from UFC fans in his wrestler.

“Actually if we were putting a number and we did not have to take bets on him, Floyd would be 1/100,” Bogdanovich said. “But this will be a very big betting fight, sure, one of the biggest ever.”

What did they say?

Floyd Mayweather Jr

Big boxing said in May that “it’s the only fight that makes sense.” When Floyd Mayweather fights, it’s history. ”

“The only thing I’m chasing is my own records, I mean pay-per-view albums, we have to give people what they want to see, fans demand that fight, we have to give them what they want to see, to make them happy.”

In an interview with The Telegraph in March, Mayweather said: “The difference between me and him is this: he has to fight, if I were him and I was smart, before I lose again in the UFC, I would let Floyd Mayweather kick My a * for a lot of money, it makes commercial sense.

“This guy said I’m a p *** and, I’m afraid, I’m a chicken. The 49 said the same thing and all the results were the same.

“When I was a young fighter I could boast and brag and say I’m gonna take his a ** and do this and that’s Floyd Mayweather But once I got to the top I had nothing to say.”
Conor McGregor

The Irishman stole the headlines after his compatriot Michael Conlan debut as a professional boxer in March.

“Watch me take control of boxing, trust me on that,” McGregor told the media. “Watch me come in and surprise the whole damn world, I’m 28, I’m a confident, long, rough, dangerous man with both hands. And hit Floyd (Mayweather) and you’re all going to eat his words.

In an interview with GQ this year, he said: “He’s 40 years old, he’s a little … he has a little head on him, honestly, my fist is bigger than his head, I sleep people, I put people Unconscious. If I hit that man, his head is going to go to the bleachers … If you understand that, if I break that little head, he’ll clean his shoulders and climb the bleachers.

Shortly after the fight was announced, White told ESPN, “I talked to Conor McGregor this morning and he’s absolutely 100 percent positive that he wins this fight.”

Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Fight training came to ‘final and limit’

Midway through the preparation of Conor McGregor for his showdown with Floyd Mayweather on Aug. 26, the head coach of the UFC lightweight champion is thrilled with how the training camp has progressed.

Conor McGregor

John Kavanagh, head coach of SBG Ireland, said the evolution of McGregor has been nice to see up close. With another six weeks still before Conor McGregor (21-3 MMA, 9-1 UFC) makes his boxing pro debut against undefeated Mayweather (49-0 boxing) at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Kavanagh likes Your fighter’s chances as much as ever.

Why? Because, according to Kavanagh’s recent interview with, McGregor is doing more sparring than ever, and the simulation of being in the ring has done wonders for “The Notorious.”

“Without going into too much detail, just to pitch a number to you: We are doing four times the amount of sparring for this camp we would make for a regular MMA camp,” said Kavanagh. “That’s a huge amount of extra rounds, and any other part that’s getting ready for a fight, whether it’s boxing or MMA, certainly the most important part of that is sparring. That’s the sport.

“So you can do movement and weightlifting and running exercises and all these different things that go with it, but No. 1 should be sparring as long as it is reasonable. To be able to do four times the amount of sparring, progress Which we are seeing – after each sparring session we do video analysis – and the progress we are seeing from one session to another, like everything that Conor does. When Conor gets his mind to something, and he is angry angrily and see him apply I really feel like we’ve leapt out in a short time, and we’re halfway to this camp. We have another cycle to go when we get to Las Vegas, and I expect to see another leap forward. ”

Although the focus for fighting in the MMA fields has and continues to evolve as the sport flourishes, the plan for proper preparation in boxing has been largely established due to its extensive history. Instead of joining a mega-camp with multiple high-level fighters, boxers usually build camps around their own needs.

The most successful MMA fighters, such as Conor McGregor, have generated the financial means to adopt a single athlete approach. It is not surprising that Kavanagh has said that this is taken to Mayweather’s camp. One thing that is also useful for Kavanagh, he said, is the fact that he only has to train McGregor for a fighting discipline.

“It’s simpler because there are fewer skills involved rather than getting ready for mixed martial arts,” Kavanagh said. “Boxing is an element. Now, of course, for boxing in MMA we do not get as detailed on him as boxing for boxing.”

No matter how many Conor McGregor spars rounds or how much progresses seemingly in the gym, what you will experience in the fight night with Mayweather will surely be unlike anything you encounter. Kavanagh is not worried about the magnitude of the moment of reaching McGregor, however, because along with the physical preparation for the fight, he said that McGregor’s mental preparation is right where he wants him to be.

“We’ve basically done about 44 fight nights before the fight night,” Kavanagh said. “So the 45th time we leave, it will seem very normal, it will not be something that will surprise us with a low guard.” To do a camp with Conor now at this stage, largely because of no financial restrictions, is a joy. ”

Mayweather vs McGregor Fight Date Has Finally Been Announced

Mayweather vs McGregor Fight For over a year we have heard a rumor that Conor McGregor will rise from MMA to boxing to make a silver charge on a fight against Floyd Mayweather. Although at first sounded absurd from almost everyone, they spent months and seemed more and more plausible.

Mayweather vs McGregor Fight

Now, according to Yahoo, they cite a “well-placed source”, the two men Mayweather vs McGregor Fight are fighting on Saturday, August 26th. If you had been careful, you know that the date is already rumored said earlier this week. True, shortly after, Floyd confirmed the date:

And, as for McGregor, he beat Mayweather for a few minutes with a joke that had probably been scheduled for months, he was laughing at the age of Mayweather by “accidentally” using a photo of Father Floyd Mayweather Sr, 64, In Place of wrestler:

Dana White also seemed to take the minimalist approach:

Mayweather vs McGregor Fight The terms of the agreement apparently agree are not yet available, but White told TMZ Sports that “plans” McGregor to make “about $ 100 million. ”

On Wednesday (or Tuesday night, according to the source), the Nevada State Athletic Commission has approved an application from Mayweather Promotions to put on a boxing card on August 26 at the MGM Grand. However, as pointed out by MMA Fighting or Mayweather or McGregor currently, they have a license for box in Nevada. This process can be changed in less than a week.

Sports TMZ has recently provided some additional details about its next fight. The 12-round bout will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas with the 10-ounce gloves Mayweather vs McGregor Fight . Mayweather Promotions is responsible for determining the billboard, which also consist of boxing matches. When asked to speculate that one of the fights on the undercard could be Roy Jones Jr. vs. Anderson Silva, Dana said, “I doubt.” Both will be tested by the USADA for any drug that improves performance.
